Frequently Asked Questions
What type of shoes should be worn and do I need shin guards?
- Footwear: Both soccer cleats and running shoes are permitted.
- Shin guards are mandatory.
What time should I arrive?
- Teams need to register at least 30 minutes before their scheduled first game.
- At least one team representative must check in at the registration area with all of the signed Team Waiver Forms.
- Individuals who are arriving later must sign in at their designated registration area.
Is parking available?
- Yes, parking is available in the CNE Grounds, next to BMO Field.
What is the “SUPERSCORER”?
- The SUPERSCORER is a special add-on to the event. A player from each team will be randomly selected prior to each game and be designated SUPERSCORER for that game. If the SUPERSCORER scores, the goal will count as two goals, as opposed to one.
Is food available for purchase?
- Yes, there will be food available at BMO Field.
I haven’t played in years – will I be out of my league?
- No, you will not be out of your league. Players will come from all skill levels and all shapes and sizes. In general, given the size of the field, the length of the games, and the size of the nets - the games should be fairly close.
- We are emphasizing fun and sportsmanship at the event and believe this will be reflected in the games.
Is this a single gender or co-ed event?
- It is both. For this year’s tournament teams can be all male, all female, or co-ed.
If I am injured, will medical help be available?
- Yes, there will be a paramedic present at the event.
How will I know what time my next game is?
- Each team representative will receive an approximate timetable for the event, there will be announcements at the event, and you can always check the master schedule area.
What happens in the event of rain?
- The tournament will go on rain or shine. The tournament will only be delayed in the event of lightning.
Are change rooms available?
- Yes. We have 4 change-rooms available for women and 4 change-rooms available for men.
What do I need to bring to the registration area?
- Bring your signed waiver forms
- Identification
- If you have not paid your registration fee by this time, please bring it with you to the registration area. If we have not received your payment prior to the event, then your team will not be able to play.
I have already submitted a team roster; can I add someone new or substitute an existing player on my roster?
- Yes, as long as it is prior to your first match and the player has signed a waiver form.
Who competes in the Community World Cup?
- The event is open to adults of all ages and skill levels. This year’s teams consist of coworkers, friends, and family teams.
What if two competing teams are wearing the same colour shirts?
- The ref will toss a coin and the loser will wear pinnies that we are providing.

Public Transit Directions
BMO Field, in Exhibition Place, is easily accessible by both options of public transit; the Go and Toronto Transit Commission (TTC).
Toronto Transit (TTC):
#29 DUFFERIN BUS
Take the Bloor subway to Dufferin Station and proceed to street level. Board the #29 bus south to Exhibition Place.
#511 BATHURST STREETCAR
Take the Bloor subway to Bathurst Station and proceed to street level. Board the #511 streetcar south to Exhibition Place.
#509 LAKESHORE STREETCAR
Take the Yonge-University subway to Union Station and proceed to the Queens Quay platform. Board the #509 streetcar west to Exhibition Place.

Access via GO Train:
